What was I thinking?

Things not to do in 43 degree weather:

* Decide to be thrifty and sew your own fitted sheets
* Buy not quite enough fabric to cover length of mattress
* Sew said sheets in an unconditioned room
* Find at the end of the whole event you haven't saved any money whatsoever

I managed to find coordinating pink polka dot material in my stash (thankyou Jodie) and make up the length of the sheets. Here are said sheets. I don't want to look at them right now.

Anyway I can't. I think I've melted into a puddle under the sewing bench...

Madness I say. Not the sheet idea, but sewing in an unconditioned room today!! I'm too scared to go outside.
Lucky you could tack a bit onto the sheets. You will have to make matching pillow slips with pink spot trim. No one will ever know.
Back to my air con.............

What were you thinking??? After being at school today in my un-airconditioned library workroom, only moving if I really had to, I am now back at home revelling in the air-con and doing NOTHING!!! Don't melt, Gillian

phew! good job you were able to add to those sheets!
erm, we are about -1 here in snowy Scotland! Not as bad as those in USA, though. x

I feel your pain. All our rooms are unconditioned at the moment. Broken a/c. Spotlight is airconditioned and they're having an end of the bolt sale. I'm heading there tonight. This heatwave could end up costing me alot of money. Marion is airconditioned, Ikea, Spotlight. I think we'll end up visiting all of them.

You were lucky to have power the whole town lost it for over 2 hours up here in the mid-north. The poor kids in those classrooms.

A good remedy for such foolishness is icy poles and lots of them, stat! Still, at least your sheet turned out well!

You're such a silly gilly! I think the states have switched temps. We're having 26-37 degree days instead of 32-43! Ah yes, coolness in summer, literally unknown in these parts. At least it's not humid too! Well done though, I would have quit long before they were finished!
