Hark, I hear the trumpets' fanfare! Part 2

I was going to mention the 101th post (yes, the 'th' bit is deliberate, I think it sounds better than 'st') in my last post but it was getting so long!

So here is the announcement of my 101th post giveaway. I've decided to be a woman of intrigue and mystery and make the giveaway a mystery giveaway.

What on earth might one find in their parcel if they were the winner of a Silly Gilly mystery giveaway? Vintage patterns, vintage children's books, ribbon, bias trim, buttons, fabric, new kids patterns for toys or clothing, fabric scraps... the list goes on but the box, yes box!, will be full of lovely things that, if you like what I like, will make you overjoyed!!

But there is a tiny catch. I want to make you work for your goodies. That and I like doing market research via my blog. Tell me your favourite type of Silly Gilly item from the list below and why it's your fave. By favourite, I mean what you think is the cutest, most useful, nicest to give as a gift...
And if you would like to be in the draw twice, mention this giveaway on your blog and link to this post! Good luck with the giveaway. The winner will be drawn 8.30pm Adelaide time Sunday 18th January.

And to prove that Jodie isn't just borrowing those really good cat photos from some cute cat photo site, here is a photo I took of her cute cat on Saturday. He is such an easy study! All he does is lie there and in this photo seems to be saying, Hurry up! Take it already!!

I only wish that I had so much stock! You've got quite a range to choose from. I think my favourite things in your store are the summer hats (particularly the roundish six-panel top ones) and I also love the Learn to Sew Cards. So practical! They are a terrific idea.

I LOVE the art smocks. My son loves to draw/paint/generally make a mess so these are my best friends!
Will post on my blog... really really love what you love so please pick me! Lol

I really, really love your steiner dolls - they are just gorgeous (but I do have a bit of an obsession with them at the moment). I think probably the thing I would be most likely to give as a gift, is super cute and super useful would be your aprons.

All your stuff is lovely though.

Well, everything is just so lovely, really! I think the lace up cards are my fav though. I love the vintage feel, and my son is always trying to 'help' my embroider. Maybe when he is three or so I can give him a dull needle and a lacing card to practice with.

I am going to add this giveaway to my blog right now...

This is so hard!! They all have their uses!
The summer hats, for example, especially here in Qld Australia, would be very useful indeed for those days at the beach. I know one little girl in particular who would be thrilled to have the Belissimo Babe Hat. The aprons are perfect for cookie baking and play-dough making on rainy days inside, especially the Happy Hippos Apron! The beautiful Candy Stripe Smock is perfect for little ones starting their first year of school, as their art projects can get very messy, and splashes of paint on school uniforms are a real pain to soak off. And although it doesn’t often get cold where we live, for blustery days in the playground the Flippety Flaps hat would be superb (providing the school allows non-uniform colors)! Of course Mummy isn’t the only one who enjoys trips to the library, so the Puppy Pals Library bag would be perfect for beginner readers. The Delightful Delilah Bloomers are just adorable and would go perfectly with that new top bought for a special beach babe. A Rainbow Cuddles Steiner Doll would be perfect to keep little miss quiet during church service, as would the Moda Learn to Sew Lace up Cards. Just imagine, they could all be kept in either the Susie Sweetpea Bag or the Fruity Fresh Handbag for toting to and from church! But all in all I think my favorite would have to be the Fruity Fresh Hat, because not only is it cute, but it’s lighter in color which means it won’t attract as much heat as the others when you’re out in the sun.
lol Sorry for such a big entry but you did ask! I'll add this to my blod too! xx

wow, that really IS big, sorry! and I meant blog..lol

OK so I am thinking the animal crackers apron would be perfect for someone I know who enjoys helping at the BBQ and loves those bright colours. Thanks for your generosity.

I absolutely love the bloomers. I have a bit of a problem of no girl babies around to buy them for, but I currently have 2 girlfriends who are pregnant so I must have at least 50% chance that one of them will be a pink one!

The Steiner toys are by far my favourite. I just love them.

That said, the art smock is just lovely and everything else is also very cute.

I still think you're insane for driving all the way from Adelaide! Insane in a very good way of course because I was very glad to meet you and just think of all the shopping you squeezed in along the way!

My favourite is definitely the fleece hats. I've always been a sucker for beanies, especially cute ones (the one with tassels, omg!), especially cute ones on cute kids! I just wish I had children somewhere in my family or friends..

PS: Verification word for today: buttingski!! Best one to date I think!

is that an actual CAT on your blog my dear ??? I see you managed the artful smudgy background quite well. I may have mopped the floor but obviously ignored the windows.

Art smocks! I've been meaning to make one for my particularly messy (but of course in an artistic way!) toddler and still haven't got to it yet!

I am your FQ swap partner and I thought I'd let you know that you will receive your FQs in about a fortnight, I couldn't find anything that quite suited you in my stash - apparently I have A LOT of orange novelty prints involving clowns wearing plaid! So I took the opportunity to go fabric shopping! Mail normally takes 7-10 days from the states, so I will post them out as soon as I receive them :)

Great to meet you on Saturday, Gillian - and I still think you're mad for driving all that day but it was worth it! Come and visit us again! I should say library bags - does that tag me as a boring library lady?? but I'll choose handbags; I have a little niece who just loves them (and she could fit a wee Golden Book or two in there!) Your art smocks and hats are cute too; all of these would be great gifts for littlies.

well let me see, The kids have, the smocks, the aprons, the summer hats, the fleece hats, the steiner doll and the little knomes and the bloomers. And I think I've bought about 20 library bag :) So, I think it is fair to say that I like all of it.

Mr E lost his new hat in Melb. I was very sad, I liked it so much. We have decided that he wanted to do some melb. advertising for you so he left it for someone else to find and admire.

The hats are my fav. bright and colourful, so I can always find them and the kids dont get burnt. Bonus.

Okay, the local anethetic is making my tongue all tingly now, I'm going to lie down.

I forgot to add that I love the little half aprons and want one in Miss C size :) They are very very 1950's housewifey :)

excellent for jam and salsa making!

I would have to say the girl's handbags because I am a sucker for bags! So I would have to add to that the library bags too, they are very cool, but I also LOVE the aprons and the summer hats are gorgeous and something every kid needs!!!! I'll put this on my blog too!

all your products are great and look fab too. my favourite would have to be your summer hats because i live in perma-summer singapore. :D happy 101th blogpost.

I would say all of those would make a great gift. I could see myself giving each for a different person in my life.

My choice (for this year) would be the library bag though. This year I am giving the grandkids a new book with each of their presents (b-days, Christmas, and just cuz I love them)

Roseanne said...

It would have to be the libarary bag for me because i thing children learning is very important
to me.

LOVE all your things, but the 'Paper Doll Family' Apron would be such a great gifty for a crafty, creative, cooking kinda little Miss. It'd be an absolute winner with my little lady (I'd just have to shrink her down to fit lol). I have a similar fabric in my stash - just have to get around to making it up.

I absolutely love your summer hats. I love the fabrics you have chosen, the trims and the adorable names you have given them. Pretty, practical and homemade - what a winner!

My absolute favourite item is the fleece hats. They are just so cute and they look like they would be extremely warm. I would definately by them as gifts for the kids in my family.

Tammy said...

It is so hard to choose just one thing. I love the art smocks! My daughter is constantly wanting to work on different projects and the smocks would be much cuter to have her in for pictures sake versus the plain pink t-shirt she wears. But I think my absolute favorite are the adorable summer hats. All the fabrics are so cute!

What a nice way to have a giveaway. I won't join in, since my children are teenagers. But if they were small, I would go for the Learn to sew cards. You can never be to young to start and that is how I started many many years ago. Have fun with you giveaway and btw, congratulations!
